A.J. Zelina Emerging Young Photographer Grant
For Emerging Young Photographers
This grant is sponsored by retired architect and urban planner Alan J. Zelina. The grant of $5,000, awarded semi-annually, is intended to encourage emerging photographers between the ages of 18 and 30 with an interest in documenting their community, environment and circumstances or factors affecting their lives.
Applicants are limited to residents of the United States. Important in the judges’ consideration will be the applicant’s demonstrated interest in photography as an expression of their circumstances and the ability to communicate their interpretation of the conditions affecting their lives, using the art of photography as an instrument of social change.
This grant should be used for the purpose of completing a body of work and the publishing of a monograph, article, book or portfolio.
Please note the funded project must be competed within 12 months of the award granting. We also expect to receive full reports from you on a quarterly basis on how you have used the funds and also on the final results of your project.
