The Luminous Landscape Grant
All Those Beautiful Places - Photo Project
Antun Cerovecki - Zagreb, Croatia
This is a carbon neutral trip with EV which aims to inspire public and encourage responsible travel. During October 2016. and October 2017. I will spend 40 days in Croatian National and Nature Parks, photographing nature and building a portfolio for an exhibition.
Most photographers do a lot of travelling in order to produce beautiful images from around the world. We'll use planes, helicopters, boats, cars and any means of transport which is at our disposal. In doing that, we introduce a lot of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. I don't think that many of us really bother about that. It's not that we can do something about it, right?
This project challenges that type of behaviour. I believe that we can (and we should) do something about it. Throughout this trip, I will show that each of us is responsible for the world we live in and each and every one of us can change it for the better.
During October 2016. and October 2017. I will drive through 7 National Parks and 7 Nature Parks in Croatia. I will produce an elaborate photographic portfolio and a photo exhibition after the trip. In articles, which will be published in national daily papers and magazines, I will describe not only the reasoning behind the project but also the feeling of not influencing the landscape in any way.
Having said that, these are the major project goals.
* show less known locations in a new and creative way
* show that we live on a beautiful planet worth preserving
* encourage people to live consciously and responsibly
* encourage adoption of EV and development of EV infrastructure
* raise awareness about environment protection
* raising awareness about personal responsibility
I intend to use the Grant to buy a DJI drone and produce a photo book from a trip.
This project is supported by Croatian National Tourist Board and Mitsubishi Motors Croatia. The photographs have appeared in National Geographic Croatia (March 2017.) and a few other magazines.
